Swimming Lessons for Kids

Hello, wonderful parents of Singapore! 🌟

Navigating the vast ocean of kids swimming lessons in Singapore can be a tad overwhelming, right? But what if we told you there's a place where the waters are just right, the curriculum is world-class, and every child is treated like a budding champion?

Swimming is often seen as a fun and recreational activity. But when you look closer, especially through the lens of a parent, you'll realize it's so much more. At Ace Dolphin Swim School, we don't just teach kids how to swim; we introduce them to a world of benefits that will serve them well throughout their lives. Welcome to Ace Dolphin Swim School, where the magic of Singapore swimming meets the excellence of the Tatsuki (TJAP) curriculum.

Safety First: Becoming Water-Confident

Living in Singapore, an island paradise, water is an ever-present element in our lives. Beach outings, pool parties, or even a simple weekend splash - water activities are integral to our culture. But with fun comes responsibility. Swimming lessons at Ace Dolphin ensure that your child is equipped with essential water safety skills.

Imagine the peace of mind you'd have, knowing your child can confidently navigate the waters. It's not just about preventing accidents; it's about instilling a sense of respect for the water. At Ace Dolphin, we emphasize understanding the water environment, recognizing potential hazards, and knowing how to respond to unexpected situations. This foundational knowledge ensures that every water escapade is both fun and safe.

In the Tatsuki Japan (TJAP) Curriculum, we adopt clothes swimming as a standard module in our swimming lessons. Why? Because accidents like falling overboard and dropping into a body of water happens, and people are normally not dressed in swimming attire. The shock of the fall, the discomfort of your clothes sticking to your skin and weight of your clothes being soaked in water can all be extremely hazardous. Having swimming lessons with clothes on helps children prepare and practice for such incidents and be able to react well, increasing survivability.

Physical Wellness - A Symphony of Health Benefits

Swimming is a harmonious dance that engages every muscle group. It's a full-body workout that promotes cardiovascular health, enhances muscle strength, and improves joint flexibility. For children, whose bodies are still growing, swimming aids in developing a strong musculoskeletal system.

But the benefits aren't just muscular. Swimming also aids in lung capacity and promotes better breathing techniques. The resistance of water means that a child has to put in more effort to move, leading to improved strength and stamina. Over time, regular swimming can lead to better posture and even improved balance and coordination.

Mental and Emotional Growth: The Calm Beneath the Waves

The pool isn't just a place for physical exertion; it's a sanctuary for the mind. The rhythmic strokes, the sensation of floating, and the gentle lapping of water have a meditative quality. Swimming has been shown to reduce anxiety and stress, even in children. The concentration required to master strokes and techniques can translate to better focus in academic pursuits.

Moreover, the process of learning to swim, with its challenges and milestones, instills a sense of achievement in children. Every new skill mastered, be it floating or a complex stroke, boosts a child's confidence. This growth in self-esteem is invaluable and often permeates other areas of their life.

In Ace Dolphin Swim School, we break it down to small and manageable sets, so your precious will constantly be rewarded and have their self esteem reinforced. This also help children to maintain passion and interest for swimming - our students are always looking forward to their next swimming lessons!

The Tatsuki Curriculum: A Fusion of Japanese Precision and Singaporean Context

Have you ever come across the term 'Tatsuki curriculum'? If not, let's introduce you to this game-changer.

Progressive and Structured Learning

Originating from Japan, the Tatsuki curriculum is renowned for its systematic approach. It's like building a skyscraper – you start with a robust foundation and then rise, floor by floor. From basic water comfort exercises to advanced strokes, the curriculum ensures a smooth progression.

Adapted for Our Little Singaporeans

While the essence of the Tatsuki curriculum is Japanese, at Ace Dolphin, we've given it a Singaporean touch. This ensures that the lessons resonate with our local culture and context, making it relatable and effective. We’ve also combined it with Singapore’s Swim Safer Programme as part of our localisation of the curriculum.

Private Swimming Lessons for Kids

Private swimming lessons for kids offer a tailored and focused approach to mastering the art of swimming. Unlike group sessions, these one-on-one lessons are specifically designed to cater to the unique needs and pace of each individual child. This personalized attention ensures that any challenges or fears a child might have are addressed directly, allowing for rapid progress and boosted confidence. Instructors can hone in on specific areas, be it technique refinement, stroke enhancement, or building water confidence, ensuring that lessons are as effective as possible. Moreover, private lessons provide a safe space for children who might be initially hesitant or shy, allowing them to open up and engage more fully without the distractions of a group setting. While they might miss out on the camaraderie of group lessons, the undivided attention they receive in private sessions often leads to accelerated learning and a deeper understanding of swimming fundamentals.
